*Today's guest post comes from Sherin of Hi Fashion. She is a fashion blogger in the UK and a great Twitter friend!
I was so honoured when Kimberlee asked me to do a guest post for her: she’s seriously one of my favourites in the blogisphere.
I live in the UK and I like to think that, just sometimes, we are ahead of the US when it comes to trends (this doesn’t happen very often though). Having spent the last week, in the rain, at Fashion Week, I’ve seen certain trends that are absolutely everywhere here. Here are 4 that I’m predicting will be huge in the US this season.
Fashion bloggers in the UK have been embracing this trend like mad, and I can see why. Pleated skirts can be both feminine and slightly tomboyish at the same time. I’m not thinking short school girl ones, but instead longer, chiffon ones. Pair them with a pair of flats or some military boots, and both looks will look amazing. Already seen on the likes of Olivia Palmero and Clemence Posey, you know this is going to be a big trend.
I’m not a fan of this trend, but every other girl during Fashion Week was wearing one. I think if you loved the headband trend, you’ll love this one. It’s great for a bad hair day, or even to spice up an otherwise plain outfit. Turbans and head wraps seem to have taken the celebrity world by storm as well, with everyone from SJP, in SATC to Kate Moss wearing them to all kinds of occasions. They are a versatile piece as they can come in an endless number of colours and patterns.
This is definitely one of my favourite current trends. We all knew that the 70’s would make a huge comeback this Spring/Summer, and with that comes wide leg trousers and gorgeous blouses. A perfect pussy bow blouse can add an added sophistication to a pair of high-waisted jeans or skirt. It’s a piece that will look good to a meeting at work (I’d recommend a camisole underneath for this) or even for a night out.
Peg leg trousers:
This is another trend that I’ve already embraced. It’s a great summer trend, especially for unpredictable summers, and it’s perfect if you love the nautical trend as much as I do. It’s a simple look, but is effective as you can pair it with almost anything. With a pair of flats and a striped tee, it’s cool and casual, but with a pair of heels and blouse, it’s great for a night out.
So, there you have it: 4 trends which I love and hopefully you’ll embrace them.Image Source
