I'm pretty bummed about this topic because I don't have any fun summer plans. My parents have a house by the Jersey Shore so I go there often, but not typically as a "vacation." I'm also taking Saturday classes so I don't have much time for my friends, let alone a vacay. Hope you all get to do something fun!
1. When it comes to packing for vacation what’s your mantra?
I don't know if I have a mantra. I always try to bring clothes that I can mix 'n match so I can pack as little as possible. I also lay out my clothes to see what I have. I'm very much a planner.
2. What are your must packs?
Besides the obvious, my skin is very picky and needs its routine. I definitely make sure to bring the same products but in travel size. Bring accessories to spice up your clothes, rather than pack lots of different clothes.
3. What are you happy to leave behind?
A winter coat.
4. Any packing secrets that help you get everything into one suitcase?
I gave some packing tips in this post. Definitely maximize space. Try to wear as much as you can on the plane (like I always bring an extra sweater to use a blanket since it's so cold on planes!).
5. Beach reading… what are you taking with you to read in the sand?
I just purchased Kelly Cutrone's new book Normal Gets You Nowhere
What are your summer vacation plans?

ReplyDeleteLove the photo you chose for your post. Great idea on the accessories!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friend Friday!
You are seriously going to judge me for this, but I totally want to visit your parents' house on the Jersey Shore so I can stalk the "Jersey Shore" cast -- particularly Snooki, Jenni, and DJ Pauly D. I think I could be best friends with all of them.
ReplyDelete...
I have no shame.
P.S. Packing for vacation is a sick joke for me. I'm the girl who packs 5 suitcases for a 3-day trip. I once brought 18 pairs of shoes for a 2-day trip. I'm not kidding.

@Yvonne- Thanks- wish I could be there now!
ReplyDelete@Bonnie- lmao I would totally stalk them with you except they are currently in Italy. LMAO I haven't packed that many but I have been known to pack too many shoes :p
I have been travelling light for decades and will never go back to travelling with more than I need - works for me. I'm happy to leave my winter coat as well. Happy Friday! -xxoo
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely always up for leaving the coat behind, I hate winters !!!
ReplyDeleteMy vacations plans are a trip to the beach with the hubby, and I leave TOMORROW !!!
i LOVE leaving behind a winter coat. all winter vacations should ivolve bikinis instead (ok ok, unless you're skiing)
ReplyDeleteI want to read Bossypants, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
ReplyDelete@Marie-Eva- Have a fun trip!
ReplyDelete@NodToStyle- haha yeah but I have enough winters in New York that I don't typically want to go on those type of vacations.
@Rebecca- I hear good things!
HAHAHA I totally layout my clothes to before i pack and try to figure out what outfits I can make out of them. I NEED to get Kelly Cutrone's book! I loved her first one.
