Just when I thought Gwyneth Paltrow stole the show in white Tom Ford along came Angelina Jolie came along to show that she knows how to work a red carpet in velvet Versace. Both ladies killed it!
Michelle Williams livened up the red carpet with a coral Louis Vuitton peplum gown. Emma Stone showed that red heads can wear shades of red in this Giambasti Valli gown. I don't think the top flattered her boobs and it was a nod to Nicole Kidman with the big bow.
These ladies weren't afraid of sprarkle! Rose Byrne looked gorgeous in this one shoulder Vivienne Westwood. Jennifer Lopez looked va va voom in Zuhair Madrid (not a fan of the sleeves though). Octavia Spencer looked gorgeous in Tadashi Shoji (big winner!). Elie Temper from Bridesmaids wore a bronzed Armani Prive sequin gown but I definitely preferred green on her.
Meryl Streep stepped it up in a gold Lanvin dress and gave Stacey Kiebler a run for her money!
Black & Gold was a popular trend on the red carpet. Jessica Chastain looked lavishing in McQueen although I would have liked more color in the accessories. I didn't like Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. Judy Greer showed off her great figure in this black & gold shift dress. I wasn't a fan of Melissa Leo's dress but I'm not usually.
Glenn Close showed those 20's something how to work a dress (psst she's 64!). Viola Davis looked great with natural hair and green Vera Wang (No more wigs girl!). Bérénice Bejo from The Artist in mint Elie Saab was not her best. She's gorgeous and this just aged her. Why all the long sleeves?
This was Giuliana's second dress and I definitely prefer this Tony Ward dress on her. Rooney Mara shocked us all and wore white Givenchy after wearing black on all the red carpets. I didn't like Shailene Woodley in this dress because it aged her (she's 20!). I do love the retro bun!
Great night for the funny ladies. Kristen Wiig gets "Most Improved" in this J. Mendel gown after the SAG's nightmare. Tina Fey looked great in a custom Carolina Herrera gown but I wasn't a fan of the hair. I thought Maya Rudolph looked gorgeous, the best she's looked in a long time! And Melissa's McCarthy dress had too much fabric on the sleeve for me. Felt matronly.
