Laura Smalls Fall/Winter '12 Runway Show
I had the pleasure of attending Laura Smalls Fall/Winter 2012 runway show at the Empire Hotel right across from Lincoln Center. The theme was "American Plains Princess" and the models wore feathers in their hair. " This collection was inspired by old photos she found of her great grandfather - Chief War Eagle of the Cherokee Nation, and infuses color and print to evoke images of landscapes and skies using shades of burnt reds, honey, saffron and tea."
Cut-outs were a popular trend among her feminine dresses.
The designer is known for her draping and sent some beautiful silk pieces down the runway.
She showed a bit of edge with some leather accents.
There were also some terrific water color prints.
Would you wear these designs?
