On Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending Nolcha Fashion Week. It was their 11th season - congrats! It features independent designers who might not otherwise be able to afford top dollar to show at Lincoln Center. It is a great mix of international designers so you get to see a variety all in one show. Here's a recap of the 5 shows I got to see:
Lace, color blocking and sequins. Gorgeous!
I liked the two nude dresses. This designer also featured menswear which was mostly plaid shirts with scarves like a Brawny man so I didn't feature them.
This wasn't my favorite collection of the bunch but I appreciate the art. The third dress looked like there were fairy wings attached.
This was my favorite collection of the bunch. It was a mix of fun and girly but sexy as well. There were also polka dots but unfortunately there wasn't a good picture. Lots of lace with no bras (hope that trend doesn't catch on!). I could have done without the oversized star accessories.
Turbans aren't going away anytime soon! The head wraps were gorgeous and I loved the use of color.
Which collection is your favorite?

Antonia and Rebeca Tiago appeal to me. What a great initiative to support young designers like this.
