While I was hanging out at the Daily Style Sessions lounge during New York Fashion Week, a girl offered me her ticket to Reem Acra's show. Sweet! As you can see by the photo above, I wasn't able to get good shots so I apologize that I'm sadly using Style.com photos (I hate seeing them all over blogs!) but I have to be resourceful I guess. "Feminine Power" was the inspiration for the collection. "Shown in a second skin of leather outfits, mixed with underpinnings of lace and chiffons - the bold contrasting fabrics, patterns and texutres come together like pieces of a unique puzzle - effortlessly falling into place to reveal confidence, beauty, strength, and freedom; empowering women to create their own style... a cause worthy of fireworks!" I love that!
First came the leather pieces.
Then the ladylike pieces, which featured that flapper style dropped waist.
To the sparkly and daring. Everyone gasped at the third model pictured above. Thankfully there were sheer panels so the model wasn't as exposed as we initially thought.
To the show stoppers. As I tweeted, somebody better wear one of these beautiful gowns to the Oscars!
It was a stunning collection overall. What is your favorite look?
