I've been a little stressed planning the swap party as well as others (announcements coming soon!). I decided to treat myself to a massage yesterday at Spa Merge. One of the perks when I worked at Spa Week was that we received vouchers for a free one hour treatment at Spa Merge when we hosted the Hot Spa Mom Night last year. It was a great chance to finally use it! Spa Merge is located in Midtown West right next to the Hilton Club and is gorgeous!
Before the service begins, you are seated in the Relaxation Room where you fill out a short questionnaire about what you're looking for in the massage, any spots you'd like to avoid during the massage, etc. It's important to let your massage therapist know if the pressure is too much so they can adjust accordingly. It's supposed to be relaxing! There was refreshing spa water with banana chips and peanuts to snack on.
Once you go back to the treatment rooms, the sounds of the city are gone and all you hear is the relaxing sounds of waterfalls. My massage therapist was Dee who was amazing! I had a 60 minute Fusion massage which incorporates Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques. I didn't hear her move around the table at all - she was like a ninja! Below the face rest is a bowl of delicious smelling scents that almost put me to sleep before she even walked in the room. She started out with some heat packs on my body to help my muscles relax. She rubbed every inch of my body from my temples down to my toe knuckles. After I rolled over on to my back she placed a warm chamomile eye pillow on my eyes which smelled delicious. She used every part of her arms (elbow, forearm, knuckles) to rub the knots out my body. Whatever she did - it was amazing!
After my massage I had their delicious fruit smoothie and more banana chips (they were delicious!).

What's your favorite spa to go in your city? What treatment do you usually get?

You're so lucky! I love massages, but rarely rarely every go! Enjoy it lady! :-)
ReplyDeleteNeither do I! I was only only able to go since it was free :)
DeleteI love, love, LOVE going to the spa! My favorite one would be the Eau Spa at the Ritz Carlton and my second would be Contour Day Spa. I'm going to booking a pre-natal massage real soon and I cannot wait! I always feel like a million bucks whenever I go.
ReplyDeleteOoh pre-natal massages are a must!
DeleteThanks for your review of Spa Merge.
ReplyDeleteI have seen multiple discounts for services they offer but was unable to find any reviews.
Your review has made me want to try them out with confidence.
Thanks again
