FBFF: Are You Going to Instagram That?

Image via

This week's FBFF topic is talking about Instagram and any other photo sharing apps we bloggers use. I am DROID user so I wasn't able to enjoy Instagram until a few weeks ago. I know some of my iPhone friends claim that now that DROID users are on it, that it's gotten spammy. iPhone users were very pretentious that Instagram was such an exclusive thing to them. I don't get why we can't all enjoy it?! And now with Instagram being purchased by Facebook for a whopping 1 billion dollars... the photo community is going to expand. Some tech sites have tried to predict what new features will be added to the service, perhaps being able to "tag" your friends. Now there's Pinstagram where you can "pin" your Instagram photos to your Pinterest boards. It seems the possibilities are endless for this only 2 years old service...

One of my favorite Instagram photos, my bright color blocking Gap umbrella during a gray New York City day

Katy has also implemented #FBPhotoaDayMay for Instagram users. I need to get on my pics!

    re: Instagram
I myself don't use it, but I think it's a cool way to capture snippets of life.

  6. I still don't get the instagram thing. It's like twitpic etc, but just with different settings. I remember when it first came out, iphone users used to intagram all kinds of stuff just so they could prove they had an iphone, and I found it spammy then. I don't mind it when people use it to take pictures of already interesting stuff, but not to make normal stuff more interesting. Clearly, I'm not a fan, lol.

Anyway, on a positive note: have a great weekend!!!

  8. I think instagram is great for creating a 'vintage feel' to pics. But I do find it funny that some people document EVERYTHING. I'm a bit with Sherin here, but I use the app too...!

  9. I think photo a day things like this using instagram must be a lot of fun and I do like some of the effects you can achieve with it - still I'm a bit mindful of signing up and then having facebook mining data from my photos to send me marketing spam!
