This month's Birchbox theme was Jet Set: "this month's box is devoted to products that will indulge your inner jetsetter, from hardy formulas that can last throughout a long-haul flight to imported finds that we've picked on our global adventures." I'm not jet setting anywhere this month but I do make frequent trips to California to visit my sister so I'm always in need of travel sized products.
Since it was Jet Set themed... I did appreciate the small touches on the packaging like making the product card look like a postcard.
- Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect (1.45 fl oz/ 6.7 fl oz $32) - "This gorgeous-smelling leave-in treatment detangles and defrizes with nutrient-rich botanicals, while built-in UV filters keep strands protected." I didn't think it smelled all that great.
- beautyblender blendercleanser (full size $17.95) - I used a beautyblender sponge awhile ago and wasn't impressed. Not sure how this cleaner helps since I don't own one. Perhaps I could use it to clean my makeup brushes?
- theBalm cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen (.04 fl oz $17) - Two-in-one lip and cheek stain.
- Comodynes Self-Tanning Intensive & Uniform Color Towlettes (2 packs of 1 towlette/ Pack of 8 $14.99) - Provides a natural and uniform looking tan in 2 hours. Obtain a darker tone that will last longer.
Apparently this tiny bottle is full size. It looks really dark but actually comes a great rosy color. Reminds me of Stila's Cherry Crush Lip & Cheek Stain, which is $24 for .08 fl oz.
I've only heard of the Comodynes brand because of the makeup remover wipes I reviewed. I like that these towlettes didn't smell like most self tanners do. I prefer the towlette application than lotion because you have to sit around and wait for lotion to dry. It definitely started to show color in a few hours; however, it kept getting darker. They have another shade "Natural and Uniform," which I want to try since I think that would look more natural on my fair skin.
Extras:
We all received this plastic bag that is supposed to store all your travel size liquids from tili. Pack of 9-12 costs $8.49 - $9.49. I'd definitely use this but not sure it will fit all of my beauty products.
They also threw in a Birchbox Man product, I received John Varvatos Star USA cologne sample. Notes included: Red Ginger Essence From Laos, Juniper Berries and Cedrat From Sicily, Blue Spruce, Green Cardamom, Osmanthus, Vetyvert, Belambre, and Tonka Bean From Venezuela.

those tanning towels look like a good product! and the stain too! hopefully my box will be here tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIt was an interesting combo of products... not sure they all followed the theme :P
DeleteThe towelettes look great. Not so happy about BB Man product because not everyone has a man in life to give it to. I do, but still, we subbed for products for ourselves, lol. The Stainiac looks like a great product!

Right?! I'm going to pawn it over to my bro but he doesn't wear cologne. lmao I would have liked to receive a female Birchbox product too ;)
DeleteFun stuff.
ReplyDeleteYup.
Deletewow you get your birchbox so fast! mine just shipped! can't wait it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI don't consider it fast since it's the last of my beauty subscription to arrive but yeah I hear people's boxes don't ship until the 10th or something crazy!
DeleteJealous you already got your box! Looks like some good stuff! I feel like the tanning wipes wouldn't have enough lotion to cover a full leg?
ReplyDeleteWell there's not exactly "lotion" but I used one towlette to cover both legs. It worked!
DeleteThe tanning towlettes look interesting - def would be interested in trying them!
ReplyDeleteHopefully they'll look better on you... WAY too dark for me :(
DeleteThat is one lovely bunch. Got me interested on those lovely stuff. Got my eye on your blog now. buy aion account.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI cant wait to get my box. The spray looks good. I got the hair mask from a previous box and I loved it.
