On Sunday, we took my Dad to a Yankees vs Mets game. When we booked the tickets it was supposed to be an afternoon game but they changed it to 8pm. I think it worked out better since it wasn't 90 degrees but rather pretty cool 70s. We went to Citi Field so unfortunately had to sit in a sea of obnoxious Mets fans. We were left field so we had a great view of Nick Swisher (bottom right). We left early since my parents had to drive all the way back to Jersey but wish I could have stayed to see their faces as the Yankees won 6-5.

Weekend Recap: Surprise Parties & Yankees
As I mentioned, last weekend was Father's Day and my brother's birthday. We decided to have post celebrations the following weekend so each of them would have their own special day. On Saturday, the surprise party for my brother I had been planning finally happened and I think we surprised him! Mission accomplished. 15 or so of his friends met me and my parents in the East Village at Royale for some beer and burgers. Along with some Buttercup Bake Shop cupcakes.

How sweet of you to organize a party for your party and I'm glad it turned out well!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo - I love the Subway series (I've lived by both stadiums in my life!) and I hear the food at Citi Field is pretty awesome now!
xoxo,
Chic 'n Cheap Living
The food has improved but Yankees Stadium will always be better :)
DeleteThe second surprise party on the link-up today! How funny! I was telling Leeann that I have always wanted a surprise party but I think I am too much of a control freak to handle not knowing! Sounds like you had a great time this weekend :) Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteI know! haha It's hard to surprise me for that same reason. I need to know NOTHING otherwise it will drive me nuts knowing a surprise is coming :p
DeleteI was going to say the same thing as Sami...seems to be the weekend for surprise parties. I was thinking about throwing one for my husband's 35th birthday next month, but realized it would be too hard to hide it from him, so he and I planned a dinner party instead. Much less stressful I think!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your weekend with us!
Yes it is very stressful planning a surprise party :p Happy Birthday to him!
DeleteSounds like an incredible weekend. I vow that when I'm ever across the pond, I'll try to get baseball tickets (if it's the right time of year). And you have to watch a football match if you're ever in England.
ReplyDeleteDeal!
DeleteI love that your family gave your dad and brother each their own special day. Double the celebrations means double the fun! Your brother's happiness at the surprise is awesome! Love the photos, ya'll look like you're having a blast!
ReplyDeleteUghhhh the Yankees!! haha just kidding ;) I love baseball, but I am an Angels fan (I'm OBSESSED with C.J. Wilson!) and a Rangers fan (I know, I know - how can you be both right? But I'm a Texas girl and C.J. pitched for them until this season) so the Yankees are a bad word where I come from haha although I would definitely enjoy that view of Nick Swisher - even if he is the enemy! lol
Stopping by from the link up :)
haha sleeping with the enemy ;) At least you're not a Red Sox fan :p
DeleteHow fun!!! Love going to baseball games. I am a huge Astros and Rangers fan. I bet your dad and brother loved the celebrations!
