I was a little coral-ed out and wanted to wear black nail polish (harkening back to my emo high school days). I've been wanting to try galaxy nails for awhile so thought it was a nicer way to spruce up plain black nails. Now there are many tutorial versions out there. This is my interpretation but feel free to change/add colors, not use a glitter top coat and instead opt for dots. You can really make them your own.
Wet 'n Wild Black Creme | Zoya's Gaia | (not pictured: Kiss Nail Art Brush in White) | Sephora by OPI Read My Palm | Essie's Big Spender | Sephora by OPI Top Coat in Only Gold For Me
I first applied Zoya's Gaia as the white base but when I sponged it, the white disappeared and a gold shimmer was left on my nail. I decided to go with it!
Much like the Ombre/Gradient effect: add the teal and pink color with the white in the middle onto a sponge. my nail until it formed a nebula looking cloud.
I topped it off with a gold glitter top coat to look like stars in the sky.

I'm obsessed with these nails - they are a new favorite!

ReplyDeleteLove your cosmo nails. I have a nailpolish from Wet and Wild that is in a "cosmo" color. I think it's actually called cosmic. I did a tutorial way back when on it lol. It's the lazy girls way of achieving your color :) But I am glad to see the cosmic print is still in since I adore this print. Makes me wish I actually made more attention in astronomy class in college lol

DeleteAbsolutely! I'm wearing black this week too (sometimes the bright colors are just overwhelming all the time). Can't wait to try it out :)
ReplyDeleteYES!
DeleteOooh, I like it. Would take a bit of time, but not too messy so would be worth it for a great day/night look. I hadn't heard of galaxy nails before.
ReplyDeleteNot that messy and the actual process isn't that long, just the drying time
DeleteI love doing galaxy nails. They are really easy too. They just look complicated :)
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely looks more complicated than it is :)
