My First BB Cream Experience
BB Creams have become quite the must-have in the beauty industry. Their popularity grew in Asian countries and now have made their way to the United States with drugstore brands L'Oreal and Garnier selling them. I never knew what they were or what the big fuss was. According to Wikipedia, a BB Cream is also known as "Blemish Balm" and has "multi-tasking" all-in-one properties — moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. BB creams make up 13% of the cosmetics market.
A highly recommended BB Cream was Smashbox's Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35. It's little pricey at $39 but when they offered a Friends & Family discount I decided to purchase it (free shipping!). It is appropriate for all skin types, this product is free of fragrance, dermatologist tested, and non-acnegenic. Thankfully the palest shade was pale enough for my fair skin.
According to Smashbox, it is a "multitasking tinted cream formula with SPF 35 moisturizes, primes, perfects, controls oil, and protects for flawless skin on set and beyond. Formulated with emollients and optical pearl pigments, this BB Cream gives skin a glowing, ethereal look and provides a hydrating veil for the complexion to maintain moisture on the surface of the skin. With its ultra-smoothing finish, it instantly re-texturizes to create a smooth canvas. Especially when worn under foundation, it enhances the wear of makeup."
exactly trying to look "camera ready" so won't be building coverage up but think it does a nice job on it's own.
