A friend had shared that CLEAR was offering free samples of their shampoo and conditioner on their Facebook page. I'm always down to try a new product so I thought sure why not. Several weeks pass and I start to see other bloggers posting and the Heidi Klum commercials so my patience quickly became tested. I finally received my sample and was excited to try.
Apparently there's a whole collection of shampoos ranging from Damage & Color Repair to Strong Lengths. I received the Total Care Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner which gently cleanses and nourishes scalp and hair. It is formulated with Nutrium 10 which has been clinically proven to restore scalp's natural moisture balance. It says it makes your hair stronge, more beautiful in 7 days. However, one small sample won't give me more than one wash so I can't accurately assess this statement. They give you a $1 coupon to encourage you to purchase a full size bottle which for the set is about $10.
To my surprise, it was pink rather than clear. There wasn't much of a smell to it, kind of like VO5. The shampoo quickly lathered into a foam onto my hair because it contains sulfate. However, sulfate has been shown to dry and damage hair so I'm not sure why this type of product would contain it. I wasn't very impressed with the conditioner either.
Would I buy it? No. I'm sticking to my Cristophe shampoo and conditioner for the rest of the summer.

Interesting review! I have never heard of this brand but I don't think I'll try it. I'll stick to my John Frieda shampoo/conditioner.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great weekend!
Oh John Frieda... fancy ;)
Deletewill this shampoo make me look like Heidi???
ReplyDeletebawahhhh
brett
haha it didn't for me
DeleteOh man that is too bad it didn't work for you. I have very thick hair I have to wash daily and as it is I barely make it through the day before the greasies kick in. My husband surprised me with bottles of this stuff on a target run and I am in love. My hair LOVES it. It keeps it soft but not sticky and keeps the oil at bay but hasn't dried it out at all.
ReplyDeleteOh interesting. What a loving hubby :)
DeleteI was sucked in by the smell. I use it with Infusium23 though so that makes a great smell combo. I forgot to check for the sulfates...thanks for pointing that out!
