My September Julep Maven Box

It's finally here! I've been impatiently waiting for this month's Julep Maven box because they partnered with Trina Turk for exclusive fall nail colors. I choose the "Classic With a Twist" box because the colors seemed to be closest to the ones I'd want to wear for fall. I loved the YSL quote included:

Here's what I got:

- 2 nail polishes: Sophie and Brandt
- American Beauty Volumizing Mascara in Jet Black $24

Bristle comb brush... not the style I typically go for

Julep has slowly moved into the beauty world with adding mascara to their repertoire. This volumizing mascara features lash growth enhancement ingredients and micro-fiber applicator which separates, conditions, and plumps individual lashes. I didn't think it was very volumizing. It would be a good mascara to help separate lashes first like CoverGirl's LashBlast 24 HR mascara then layer another mascara on top. I also need to use waterproof otherwise my eyes get irritated.

Brandt is described as opaque off-black crème that reminded me a lot of the Birchbox/Color Club polish I received this month.

Sophie is described as a chic truffle mushroom crème or as I'd say a greige (gray/beige). I think it would look cute with Brandt as polka dots.

I kind of wish they added some extras like they usually do. The box seemed kind of bare. But I really liked the colors. They will be great additions to my fall nail collection!
