Happy Halloween!


Happy Halloween! For us New Yorkers, Halloween was deterred by Hurricane Sandy. Most adults partied during the weekend but I feel bad that most kids didn't get to go trick-o-treating. The city had to cancel the Village parade; the first time in it's 39 year history. Thank you to everyone who asked if I was okay. Felt like my birthday on Facebook with people coming out of the wood works to check in. Very flattered. Thankfully, I lived in a neighborhood that felt no affects of the storm. I know many are without power including my brother's apartment and some family in New Jersey.


But back to Halloween... my favorite holiday! Being a fashion girl, I love the thought of dressing up. I don't think I'll ever stop wearing a costume for Halloween. I'll just go with my nephews who are still young enough to enjoy it. I also love Halloween decorating, in fact, I decorate like it's Halloween all year long. I've always been drawn to skulls so I have lots of them around my apartment along with all black furniture. I don't find it bleak at all! (I know, I'm weird).

  2. Happy Halloween! I feel bad for some of the kids I do hope in some of these communities they had Halloween celebrations over the weekend so that they could at least dress up. I know in my neighborhood park they had their annual Halloween parade where all the little kids dress up and walk around the park. So I hope they had something similar in these areas.

  3. Yeah, that hurricane really came in and messed with Halloween festivities over there on the east coast. I definitely don't miss hurricane season. Glad you are OK and ready to enjoy Halloween! I would decorate with pumpkins year round--they seem so easy to incorporate into an interior style.

  4. I didn't realize you lived in the NY area, and I'm so glad to hear that you're okay. I can appreciate Halloween but it's never been my favorite holiday probably because when the weather's in the high 80s and 90s it's hard to be in the mood. Hope you have a lot of fun tonight!

    1. Yup! Thankfully I'm okay but the same can't be said for the rest of the city. Power is slowly getting turned back on in some parts.

      That's how I feel about Christmas in California. It doesn't feel right not having a white Christmas :/

    1. Aw thanks :) Still have many friends without power which is so sad. Wish there was more to do for them but transportation is completely messed up!
