| Ariel & Christina of Rae Francis |
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Rae Francis Spring 2013 press preview at the ultra chic Gansevoort Hotel. Rae Francis is a New York-based contemporary womenswear line founded by best friends Christina Coniglio and Ariel Lilly. All their clothes are made in the Garment District and all the fabrics are locally sourced. Love discovering local companies who are trying to keep the fashion industry alive in New York. The Spring 2012 collection was inspired by the great Florence Welch and summer music festivals like Coachella and SXSW.

The color palette was made up of colors that you'd find at summer festival: cotton candy pink, sky blue, and vanilla sorbet. They used soft fabrics like 100% silk, cotton and linen to keep the collection soft and feminine. I could totally see myself twirling in the breeze in one these creations.
Their speciality is creating comfortable basics with surprising details like a cut-out back or a deep slit. "You feel like you're wearing pajamas" one of the girls working there said. The pajama trend is big for Spring 2013. Their were lots of sheer maxi skirts and mullet dresses along with scalloped shorts. I especially loved the sweatshirt-like material pieces. Would be so comfy to curl up in!

They also kindly gave us goodie bags which included one of their super soft tank tops, Soxxy socks (which come in fun colors!), assorted Eclat chocolates and Biao Beauty Rejuvenating Mask (the packaging is plantable!)

OOO their collection looks like my type of collection. Their looks look perfect for summer music festivals for sure!
