This weekend many of those on the East Coast prepped for Hurricane Sandy. They issued a State of Emergency on Friday for Manhattan, closed down transportation and began evacuating Sunday. I'm not in any zones (a few blocks from Zone C) so didn't have to deal with evacuation. Supposedly the Jersey shore was going to get the brunt of it. Thankfully, my family that lives there didn't have to evacuate or deal with any severe damage. My least favorite is since this storm is so wide (575 miles or something) that New York will be feeling the effects for several days.

Sunday: Sunday night we were supposed to start feeling the beginning affects of the hurricane with heavy winds and rain. They interrupted football to give us updates but pretty much it was just windy. There was plenty of football to watch. My boy Peyton was back and he did NOT disappoint with a big win over the Saints.

Nom nom nom Crumbs cupcake!! Yay for not being in a evacuation zone. We are surrounded by evacuation zones thanks to the east river and the Gownaus but we are on higher land so no leaving for us.

DeleteHey well if you are gonna have to hole up somewhere to stay out of harms way, ya might as well eat cupcakes and candy! Hope you are still out of harms way from that big guy over there. Sounds pretty nasty. Happy to be a new reader here, found you through the link up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I was thankfully out of harms way.... can't say the same about the rest of Manhattan
