My January Julep Maven Box
So excited when I got back to have my Julep Maven box waiting for me. This month's theme was vacation because they were releasing a new neon collection. As always they did a great job with the packaging: bright colors and I liked the touch of dried grass that looked like a Hawaiian hula skirt. But as much as I love neons, I'm not sure I want to wear them in frigid temperatures. It seemed a bit ill-timed for us East Coasters who don't have the luxury to travel to a tropical paradise but the colors are still pretty. I choose "Classic With a Twist" which included:
- Hand and Cuticle Stick $22
- Bonus: Neon hair ties
They included these "Swatch Me" stickers which I thought were brilliant. I've seen bloggers use a similar method to organize their nail polishes. However, Julep placed stickers on the polishes included the box which seemed a bit useless since you can't exactly swatch the top of the bottle... I just ended up putting a new sticker on top.
Grace is a light pink sheer that is perfect for when you want your nails to look manicured but you don't want a bright nail color.
On the opposite end, Madison is an electric neon hot pink crème, which is totally up my alley. Can't wait to wear it in the summer!
This stick contains shea butter and peptides that help restore the youthful appearance of your hands while Vitamins C and E nourish and soothe. I felt odd applying a jumbo stick to my cuticles. Also, $22 is a bit pricey for .67 ounces. I wasn't very impressed with the "nourishing" part. I'd rather apply a hand lotion to keep my hands nourished.
I also ordered their One-Step Polish Remover Pads as my add-on to this month's box but they still haven't arrived yet. I've read on other blogs that they ship separately but never received a tracking number so hopefully they arrive soon.
