Friday: I saw Silver Linings Playbook while it was freezing cold in NYC. I want to see all the Oscar nominated movies (well most of them...) before the Oscars. SLP had a lot of good reviews much to my surprise so thought I'd check it out for myself. I wouldn't say it's Oscar-worthy. It was nice to see Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence not in their typical roles. Didn't really think they had such acting chops. But how hard is it for two crazy people to fall in love when they look like Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence?! It was a refreshing romcom that deals with real life issues when most romcoms don't but I wouldn't nominate them or the movie for an Academy Award.
Saturday: All productivity went out the window. My afternoon plans didn't happen. My evening plans were cancelled so I watched Up because I needed a good cry. Then I tuned into watch The Lumineers on SNL because they're from the town I grew up in and I don't think there's ever been a successful band from my town lol. They killed it! Have to see them live at some point.
Sunday: After an unproductive Saturday, I was determined to make Sunday somewhat productive so I cleaned my apartment. Then it was time to watch the last football games of the season: the AFC and NFC Championships, which basically means whoever won either game was going to the Superbowl. Spoiler alert: It's going to be the Ravens vs 49ers. I'm super bummed the football season is over. It wasn't a good season for my New York teams but happy to see my boy Peyton come back stronger than ever! Then it was Girls night where they had a discussion about race after the showing was heavily criticized for showing white privilege. It was a great convo but I think unfortunately it's going to be the last one on the show since it looks like Donald Glover's character is gone.
Monday: Happy MLK Day! Just one week until grad school...
