Once I landed in New York again where the weather is a drastic change from southern California (where I was for the holiday), I had the sniffles and a dry throat. But by Thursday I had a full blown cold with a congested head and hoarse voice. I did everything I knew how to make it go away but still barely anything felt good on my throat. Thankfully now writing this my throat is better and my head is less congested. But most of my weekend was staying in drinking tea and honey.
I caught up on The Sopranos on HBO GO (which is amazing!). I'm the only one in my family who hasn't seen it and being from Jersey, I had to check it out. I'm half through season 6A and I have to say it's definitely not what I was expecting. They go back and forth on the timeline, sometimes showing the past after already seeing the future. Or there were weird dream sequences. Who knew heaven was a party at a bed & breakfast in Irvine, California (lol).
I finally watched Moonrise Kingdom on my Netflix. There was some controversy in my family around this movie. My brother said it was funny but my sister did not agree. Usually all of us agree on a movie and I always respect their movie reviews. The movie was directed by Wes Anderson who directed one of my favorite movies of all time, The Royal Tenenbaums, so I had high hopes. I didn't cry laughing like in the Tenenbaums but Jason Schwartzman's character was hilarious. The adults acted like children while the kids were making adult situations. It was beautifully shot in Wes Anderson style. I enjoyed it and it's a sweet story.
This weekend was also Wild Card weekend for the NFL. Even though my team, last year's Superbowl champs, the New York Giants didn't make it into the playoffs... I still love the game. I have high hopes for his brother Peyton and RG3 who is one of those rare players sparks a new fire in the game. Unfortunately, he was playing an injured man and couldn't pull off a win for the Washington Redskins. Seahawks advanced to face the Atlanta Falcons next week. The Baltimore Ravens face Peyton and the Denver Broncos next week. Don't let me down Peyton!
