My First Popbasic Collection
Madeline Veenstra the co-founder of Wikifashion launched a social shopping site called Popbasic. I was one of the few they invited back in October and have anxiously been awaiting my first delivery. The premise of Popbasic is to create micro collections of 2-3 items based on classics and current trends that are emailed to you monthly. You are not locked into a monthly subscription so you can choose which micro collections you want to purchase and they'll cost between $50-100 (shipping included) depending on the items featured. This micro collection was $55 (and I got a $10 credit for being a beta user).
I opted to buy this collection just to see the quality of the items. I wouldn't typically spend $55 for a blouse and 2 necklaces.
I wore the Yellow & Gold Twist necklace with this neon tank I wore to class this week. This is the necklace that fits most into my wardrobe. I liked it. It wasn't too heavy.
I also received a beauty item - Tatcha's Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Papers. They're are 100% abaca leaf and gold flake blotting papers suitable for all skin types. I received these in one of my POPSUGAR Must Have boxes but they got wet so I never got to try them. Looking forward to my second chance!
The necklaces were both bold, statement ones so I'd prefer maybe a simple, classic necklace that I could layer with the other necklace. I'll see what next month's items include but do like that I'm not locked into paying $50+ a month.
